Breed Specific Legislation Advocates or thugs

It all starts with a totally avoidable and tragic death of a young and vibrant woman following an incident where her pet attacked her mother in the family home....

The dog named Spike (above) had been owned by Cartee for around ten years, according to her ex-boyfriend
The dog named Spike (above) had been owned by Cartee for around ten years, according to her ex-boyfriend
"Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger said Cartee died at the scene and that an autopsy on Sunday revealed the cause of death to be dog bites to the head and body."

Immediately the pitbull haters kick into action attacking the victims

(FYI, that doesn't look like an American Pit Bull Terrier to me?... just saying)

A warning to those pitbull loving relatives and friends. Another pitbull advocate, only 25 years of age was killed by her own pet pitbull.. http://www.foxcarolina.com/…/coroner-on-scene-of-dog-attack…

“How quickly you turn on your supporters and those who believe your messages. Nicole followed the following Facebook groups: The Truth About Pit Bulls, Oscar the Happy: Chained to Cherished, The Positive Pit Bull, American Bully, American Pit Bull Terrier, Pitbulls, Pit Bulls and Itty Pitties, My Name is Rosie, But Dad Calls Me The Baby, Pitbulls Are Part of My Family, Pit Bull’s, Change of Heart Pit Bull Rescue, Pinups For Pit Bulls, Inc., Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Villalobos Rescue Center, Animal Allies Clinic, Pit Bulls and Parolees, and Underhound Rescue. What groups didn’t she follow? Any group that would have conflicted with the idea that Pit Bulls are wonderful pets and just like every other dog. She probably hated the groups that could have helped her realize the truth before it was too late.”

She had a long-standing suicidal urge??? jk

In the meantime another arm of the anti pitbull militia try and recruit the victims boyfriend (recently separated) and if he won't come around to their way of thinking he'll be next to be stalked bullied and harassed.

I know we've talked so much already. And I truly hope you know that I am always here for you, just like I said. This isn't easy, and never will be. But Nicole did NOT die in vain...and we, together, are making sure of this. We will do what we have to, and then some. You are never going to be alone in this fight...and I sincerely just want you to know this, with all of my heart. You are forever in my prayers, and the reason that I ‪#‎WontBackDown‬.
To Patrick..that had to be a horrible loss to you. Surround yourself with friends and understanding folk for awhile. Shun those that blame, seek support for their own agenda, don't let anyone tell you you have to be strong right now, you don't, do whatever you find that makes you feel better, take your time to grieve. I am so sorry God Bless You

On his facebook page these people start their subtle recruitment

Yesterday I lost the love of my life do to a pit bull and for those who say pit bull are not bad I say to y'all go to HELL I know what they did

Actually I'm surprised because normally they leave a link to their hate groups etc etc......

Dangerous Dogs...

See for yourself a post about this tragic incident in a supposed public safety advocate Facebook group called "Dangerous Dogs" I've read the whole thing and I can't see even one "RIP" for the victim?

Now the good old Daily Mail picks up the Nicole Cartee story.
Porsche 'Nicole' Cartee and her sister pulled the dog off their mother but it turned on Nicole and killed her at her South Carolina home. She had owned the dog for...

  • Laurie Anne Perhaps in time Mr Powell will provide more details as to what he saw that he found disturbing enough to foresee the possibility of a fatal attack in the future, and volunteer to kill the dog himself. Food aggression? "Protective"? Had it attacked other animals? But also, importantly, what was the justification for this family keeping a dog that was so "reactive"? Why did they tolerate its behavior? Nicole was actually something of an activist for the breed, and belonged to every "Pit Goods Make Great Pets" FB group out there - in spite of the way the dog behaved in their home....

Our attack came out of the blue, a dog we didn't know that got loose, and it was terrifying. To be attacked and killed by the dog you lovingly kept as a pet - there is betrayal on top of the shock, as you realize it is attempting to kill you.
  • Rebecca Wheeler The article got it wrong when it stated that the dog had never done this before. Apparently the author is unaware that the mother had been hospitalized from a previous attack.
  • Donnalyn Wigan The comments are a relief to read.
  • Rebecca Wheeler Ok, I lack reading comprehension apparently. The article stated that there were no REPORTED attacks by the dog previously.
Yes, it's refreshing to see so many speak out against this breed. The nutters will catch on soon enough to the article I'm sure.
  • Linda Chapman Sounds like the boyfriend and his family were the only ones with any sense...too bad for her and her family that they didn't follow his warnings
  • Olivia Wyatt She had that monster since she was 15 or 16 years old. How sad that she devoted so much time and energy to a horrible dog and it turned on her and killed her. I know her mother deeply regrets letting her get that dog, because if she doesn't, that's really strange.
  • Christy Cornell She got that dog as a CHILD and looked at its behavior with child like eyes when she was a child and, probably due to her love for it, also looked at its behavior with child like eyes as an adult. On top of that, she believed all the nonsense she read on those pro-pitbull websites. I'm not excusing her pitbull apologist behavior, I'm just saying I can understand why she acted and thought the way she did.

As someone who once believed the pro-pit bull propaganda myself, all I can say is, but by luck (or some may say Grace), there go I.
  • Irene Lobaido Its too bad, she will never see another day, because she believed all this pitbullshit!!

These Pro- Bsl advocates masquerade as Public safety advocates whereas they're nothing more then vengeful, hateful, selfish dangerous people and they'll do and say anything they have to in order to get their wishes.

If they actually cared for any of the Dog bite victims they'd actually be doing something constructive toward curbing the death rate whereas by spreading their fear and lies regarding pitbulls they put innocent children at risk instilling the idea only pitbulls kill people which clearly is not the case.

If this is how they act on public forums imagine what they're saying and planning in their private groups??
