Jeff Borchardt does a real hatchet job on Staffordshire Bull Terriers claiming they're pit bulls......

The anti pit bull lobby are using lazy sloppy reporting and underhanded tactics in their pit bull extinction campaign adding more and more breeds to their kill list.

There's been a number of incidents in the media recently relating to fatal attacks involving Mastiffs and many of the anti pit bull lobby consider "Mastiffs" to be over sized pit bulls due to the distant ancestry link between the ancient mastiffs of Europe and a number of breed types alive today.

Jeff Borchardt is responsible for promoting and sharing dangerous propaganda in a full tilt hate campaign against "pit bulls" following the extremely preventable tragedy involving his son by his baby sitters pit bull boxer mixes.

As you can see Jeff blames "pit bulls" and wants to make them extinct and he's obviously willing to promote legislation that only prevents pit bull attacks and actually does nothing for community safety in general.

Jeff has basically used all the donation to create billboards and bus shelter banners which ironically seem to feature an American Bully but are anti "pit bull" given the he calls AB's pit bulls too.....

In honor of his son Jeff created a "not for profit" organization called Daxton's Friends which he claims is an "education & awareness" website but a quick examination of the content reveals a lightly veiled hate campaign against pit bulls.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier....

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier as described on Daxton's Friends....

As the Screenshot is hard to read I've copied and then pasted an excerpt below.....

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

"The Staffordshire Bull Terrier originates from the region of Staffordshire, England in the 19th century and is genetically related to the Mastiff and the Bull Terrier. When bear- and bull-baiting were banned, people who’d made a living off that bloodsport started mixing the Elizabethan bear-baiting, bull-baiting mastiff type ‘Bulldogs’ with terriers to reduce their size.  The goal was to get a smaller, more agile dog that would be fit for dogfighting instead of attacking larger animals. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a local version of the various fighting dogs that resulted, originating in the coal mining areas of Staffordshire, England. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, like all breeds, retains the traits its forebears were bred for – in this case, the trait referred to as “gameness”. “Gameness” is an eagerness to engage in fighting activities and willingness to continue despite injury or pain to the attacking dog.  Originally no more than 16” at the shoulder, these Mastiff / ‘molosser’ descendants were classified as terriers by the British Kennel Club in 1935, partly to disguise their fighting history. The breed wasn’t recognized by the AKC until 1975. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is nowadays often much larger, thus losing the main difference that distinguished them from the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier. The Staffordshire is a Pit Bull type breed."

It's a little like a B grade movie this site with everything based on fact but having no real relationship to reality at the same time.

Consisting of made up or cherry picked facts entwined in half truths and flat out lies as they fail to mention the outstanding name Staffy's have for acting like "nanny dogs" and their reputation instead claiming they're an unpredictable breed which is not right according to the overwhelming evidence to the contrary available on the internet alone.

The Pit Bull Dog - Once Known as the Nanny Dog - What Happened ...

As you can see below originally bred from Terriers native to "Staffordshire" & bulldogs (England).....

Wikipedia

The early bull and terrier types were not bred to resemble the breeds of today, but rather for the characteristic known as gameness, with the pitting of dogs against bear or bull; testing the strength and skill of the dogs. Landrace working dogs crossbred with bulldogs provided the ancestral foundation stock for the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. These bloodsports were officially eliminated in 1835 as Britain began to introduce animal welfare laws.

It seems to be consistent that American Pit Bull Terriers initially started in England so Apbt's tragic fighting history continued long after Staffordshire Bull Terrier owners turned their dogs into show dogs and family pets (nanny dogs) well over a hundred years ago.....

Staffordshire Bull Terrier's are distinctly different from American Pit Bull Terriers in both looks and personality often being too friendly for their own good and falling prey to horrible acts of abuse.

The fact that these people can get close enough to inflict fatal injuries and cruel acts of violence in itself indicates the victim can't have been very aggressive.....

DogzOnline: Staffordshire Bull Terrier Breed Information

Appearance

Easy misidentified as a Pit Bull, American Staffordshire Terrier, Bull Terrier as well as other Bull breeds. He ideally stands between 14’ to 16’ and weighs between 11kg – 17kg. There colours are red, fawn, white, black or blue, or any one of these colours with white. Any shade of brindle or any shade of brindle with white. Potential owners of the breed should be aware coat colour has no bearing on price and that there are no rare colours in Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

History

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is a man-made breed and was a cross between the bulldog of the day (not the current Bulldog) and the now extinct Old English Terrier. He was developed in an era when man was less than humane to man and definitely less accommodating towards animals. The breed was recognised by The Kennel Club (UK) in 1935.

Temperament

This is where the breed really comes into its element. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier has always been a popular choice for Australian families and this tradition looks set to continue. A reliable all purpose family breed, he has an affinity with children and he is their protector and confidant. A Stafford yearns for affection from his family and friends. To be frank - this interaction is required for his well-being. He is happy to go for a walk, ride in the car or snuggle on the couch with his owner/s. It is often said that when this happy-go-lucky soul is around you are never really alone. The SBT is very much child-proof and can handle the punishment young children often inflict. It is highly recommended, as with all breeds, that supervision is always practiced. In a nutshell no child should be left with ANY animal unsupervised.

Across the board not one of the sites I visited preparing and publishing this blog mention any issue with Staff's being unpredictable and/or dangerous quite the opposite they unanimously confirm the placid nature of the breed as a whole specifically their " Nanny Dog" history with children.

In the screenshot below the author mentions the establishment of the breed in the times "many centuries ago when Bulldog and Mastiffs were related"

He goes onto state the in 1860 a breeder crossed the "old pit bull" now known as the Staffordshire Bull Terrier to get the "Bull Terrier".

So Staffordshire ancestry goes back to the "mastiff like" dogs and the Bulldog but that's not unique in fact that could be said for every breed and type of medium to large dog in the northern hemisphere.....

It really isn't that hard to see the differences between them when you see them together and it really is no wonder victims struggle to identify dogs in some cases given the similarities and the nature of any attack and the way it leaves the victim traumatized.

American Pit Bull Terrier - Wikipedia

History[edit]

World War Iposter featuring a pit bull as representation of the U.S.
The Pit Bull Terrier was created by breeding Old English Terriers and Old English Bulldogs together to produce a dog that combined the gameness of the terrier with the strength and athleticism of the bulldog.[5] These dogs (Bull and Terriers) were bred in England, and arrived in the United States where they became the direct ancestors of the American Pitbull Terrier.

The reality is Staffordshires have primarily been bred and kept as show dogs and family pets since 1935 and the breed is more famous for being a "nanny dog", and a very loving faithful family member given to being overly friendly as opposed to aggressive.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Vs. Pit Bull - Pets

American Pit Bull Terrier.....

Modern Pit Bulls

Todays pit bull types - the American pit bull terrier and the American Staffordshire terrier - are two distinct breeds. The American Staffordshire terrier is recognized by the the American Dog Breeder's Association and the United Kennel Club, the American Kennel Club. They are similar in appearance, size and temperament with only subtle differences. For example, American Staffordshire terriers have stronger front legs than the pit bull, but the pit bull's hind legs are stronger than the Am Staff. Although these dogs were once bred for baiting, many of today’s modern pit bulls are genetically far-removed from their fighting ancestors and both breeds have been bred not to show aggression to humans.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers: What's Good and Bad About Staffords

The worst part of owning a Bull type breed of any type is the discrimination and prejudice in the community and it's all being driven by sloppy media using "pit bulls" as click bait often falsely claiming incidents involved pit bulls when in fact the dog was a mixed breed.

The fact is these 6 breeds (below) and more are all called and considered to be pit bulls by the media and dogsbite.org regularly mislabels pit bull mixes as pit bulls too and with all of this in 2016 of the 31 victims only eleven attacks allegedly involved pit bulls which as I've said includes the six breeds (below) and even then if we look at the true statistics as represented in the research gate report which concluded that 35% percent of fatalities throughout the time frame of the study involved dogs identified as pit bulls we see the same statistical evaluation 35%
.

Here's an excerpt from the study conducted by the Annals of Surgery but you'll never see this posted by the anti pit bull lobby as dogsbite.org is claiming in their latest propaganda (below) that pit bulls are responsible for 71% of fatalities in 2016 which is a straight up lie....

Excerpt.....

RESULTS

During the 15-year period reviewed in this study, 228 dog bite
injuries were treated by our Trauma and Emergency Surgery Service.

Of the 228 attacks reviewed, the breed of dog was reported for 82
attacks. Of those 82 attacks, 29 (35%) were attributed to pit bulls and 53 (65%) were attributed to all other breeds of dogs combined.

Jeff Borchardt can not be trusted to give unbiased facts and/or information in relation to either pit bulls or attacks in general given his hatred for pit bulls coupled with his need for revenge on both pit bulls and their owners which renders him tainted by his emotions and unreliable as a source.

Jeff exposes his hatred and bias on the Facebook page in the name of the organization created to honor his dead son.....

Jeff has seemingly taken on a vigilante mindset in relation to what he calls victims advocacy as you can see by the rant below in the screenshot he really seems to be inciting violence towards pit bulls and he's not being very subtle as it's quite clear....

Jeff seems to be acting more like a spoiled child then an actual victims advocate and given his organization created in honor of his son has no active programs or initiatives to start any programs focused on victims one wonders where do the donations go?

Any average individual not familiar with their hate campaign perusing the site may well not see the reality but if you know the facts it's abruptly obvious the site is tainted and biased against pit bulls and their owners.

The donations given to this site are squandered on propaganda with not one cent going to actually helping victims or preventing more victims in the future quite the contrary the dangerous disinformation on this site is quite likely contributing to the above average dbrf's in America for the last 3 years in a row.

In 2016, 11 of the 31 fatal dog attacks allegedly involved "pit Bulls", so 20 people were killed by either mixed breed mutts or non pit bull type dogs.

That's 20, (65%) of dog bite related fatalities in 2016 didn't involve "pit bulls" and breed specific legislation only tries to stop attacks involving pit bulls, get ready for another 20 odd deaths next year too if you keep Bsl.....

Anyone contradicting the overwhelming body of evidence confirming that Bsl does not work by supporting and promoting it has to have an ulterior motive to wanting the legislation enacted and is obviously willing to sacrifice these victims in order to kill pit bulls.....

More to come.....
