I came across this site, facebook page is Adore Houston. Abuse to animals makes me sickened and angry, but the amount of $ spent on "fixing" some of these dogs is unreal. Estimated cost to "fix"Apollo is $8,000 to $10,000. So many pets and families could be helped with that amount of $. Abuse is wrong, but trying to save every abused animal is wrong too. M.j. Brandt I agree, the $ spent is ridiculous. They are a non-profit group so I am sure it is from donations. I love animals, but euthanasia is not always the worst Option. There are several rescued, abused animals on this site that are missing limbs and are horribly maimed. They seem to have a few mislabeled pits up for adoption too.

Dusty Brown Bull crap! Pits are notorious for attacking all types of vehicles. Somebody told me of a neighbor that had a Pit Bull missing his lower jaw. Why? Because the fool Pit Bull attacked a moving tractor trailor's tires and got it ripped off. Despite having no lower jaw, it continues to attack the tires of moving vehicles. This is unlikely from abuse but just another fine example of the breed doing the deed.

Heather Clemenceau The most humane thing to do is to put this dog to sleep. I'm so tired of seeing fundraising campaigns for animals with 3rd degree burns over 80% of their bodies, wimpering as their bandages are changed, or the equivalent. It is an act of kindness to humanely euthanize any animal with substantial injuries.

Lisa Black The dilated pupils on that dog indicate pain, and I'd expect a missing nose is quite extremely painful. They're not doing the animal any favors by forcing it to stay alive. It's all about them, and feeling like they're heroes.

Lucy Muir pit bull advocacy doesn't make any sense. But if you call it pit bull ownership advocacy, then their actions make sense. They are striving for the inalienable right to own pit bulls no matter the cost to pit bulls, pets or human society.
