These pages created by pit bull haters seem to be getting increasingly disturbing as Bsl is being repealed & their comparisons become even more absurd with this one comparing pit bulls to back yard swimming pools????
I have been thinking about how many "nutters" try to defend the attacks by these fighting-type dogs. With Mickey, in particular, they say the victim child wasn't supervised and walked into mickey's yard and tried to take his bone. In other cases, they defend the attacking dog as being set off, the trigger pulled as if on a gun, by something the victim does unintentionally to these dogs. In the law, there is such a thing called an "attractive nuisance." The most common example given of an attractive nuisance would be a swimming pool in someone's backyard. Depending where the pool is located, city ordinances may say you have to put specific types and heights of fencing, of signs and gates, and locks to keep children away who may be attracted to the pool, since children cannot perceive the danger. The similarity between your swimming pool and your pit bull is that children cannot perceive the danger. But that is about where it ends. Your swimming pool isn't going to break out of the fence and go on a rampage in your neighborhood, it isn't going to be nice one minute and rip your face off the next. In fact, a swimming pool is a neutral quantity. Same with a gun or knife or bow and arrow, which are not attractive nuisances since no one knows you have such an item unless you tell them. Likewise, though, a gun isn't going to jump out of your gun safe or a knife off the shelf and do harm to anyone all by itself. Fighting-type dogs may be equated to both types of dangers, the attractive nuisance and the weapons, as they all constitute the possibility for a lethal outcome. Just as in many communities, having a pool in your backyard may cause your home insurance to go up or may not be permitted under the covenants in certain neighborhoods, home owners, landlords, cities, rescues, animal control facilities should and must be sued each time these animals attack. Only then, when chickens come home to roost, will we see a decrease in these fighting-type dogs. The dog cannot help what it is, but it is NOT a neutral quantity. Just as a border collie will herd, and a retriever will fetch, so will these dogs follow their genetics.
I'm not able to grasp the logic in the whole backyard pool analogy but in this next post they're not quite so subtle with this being a perfect example of the type of tactics/methods being used to inflame the situation and promote fear trotting out the same old "it's in their DNA" BS, honestly if that theory had any merit "ONLY" fighting breeds/types would be killing people and Breed Specific Legislation would be working and neither are true as demonstrated by the death toll in 2014 which was 50% higher then the 20 year average for DBRF's and non banned breeds do can and have certainly killed people and pets.
The fact is I'm relatively sure this poor victim regardless of what actually caused these injuries knows nothing about the use of her picture nor has she given her permission for the picture to be used in this manner the fact is if they truly thought their argument had any merit whatsoever they wouldn't have to resort to this sort of sensationalist propaganda and why the need to covet their actions behind a Facebook page if they truly believed what they preach.
