On February 4, I wrote a letter to my representative, Congressman Paul Ryan. I wanted to know why the CDC had stopped tracking dog bite fatality information by breeds of dogs in 1998.
The results of this process are summarized in the Joint Statement by Daxton’s Friends and DogsBite.org. Links to the related source documents of this multi-party correspondence are included on page 2. The CDC’s response to our materials and the inquiry made by my congressman were primarily artificial. Our solution to this inadequate response is clarified in the Joint Statement, “If the existing system fails to track critical data then fix the system so that it does.”

So an adopter picked up her adopted rabbits today from my house (I do rabbit and rat rescue) and she is telling me her mom likes boxer dogs and has always bought them from breeders but she talked her into rescue this time. She told the rescue she absolutely did not want anything with any pit bull in it. She adopted 2 puppies that were supposed to be boxer lab mixes. She did a DNA test. Guess what they are? Staffordrshire Terrier and Weimaraner. These rescues are going to make people not want to rescue dogs anymore. Oh and I went to an auction last night where the auctioneer always has his dog there wandering around the auction house. His dog must have died and he has a new one that looks to be a lab/pit mix. Hope that dog doesn't snap one day....sigh

Florida. The pit bull had previously bitten off someone's finger. But was returned to it's owner who was attempting to rehome it when it attacked a two year old child.

  • Christy Cornell Pitbull owners should take this as fair warning. When you say "blame the owner" , the owner could VERY WELL end up being YOU. Charges were increased against the pitbull owner ( father of pitbull attack victim Javon Dade) and his live in girlfriend. Shit got real when the child was killed, but shit just got REALLY real when the owner/father found out he is gonna be facing jail time.

A suspected live hand grenade found outside a Jersey City fire house last nightended up there after a man walking two pit bulls tried to hand it to a firefighter, police said.
At around 6:30 p.m., the firefighter told police that a thin man wearing a red hat and walking two large pit bulls approached him outside Jersey City Fire Company 4 at 468 Ocean Ave. and attempted to hand it to him, the report stated.
When the firefighter refused to accept the apparent explosive, the man dropped it on the sidewalk and fled south on Ocean Avenue, police said.

Maybe we should remind this man about the Foley family and the HOUR AND A HALF pit bull attack that happened 1 mile from this attack 4 years ago. I'm definitely reaching out to this man. This is selected genetics people. Fighting breeds in cattle and dogs share many of the
same traits. And yes, both are currently bred for blood sport.
